Lanai Health Talk Volunteer to count whales in 2010!

Volunteer to count whales in 2010!

Anyone who wants to help in this year's whale count can sign up now.

Volunteers working with the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary are invited to help count humpback whales spotted around the islands over a four-hour period and record their behavior.

This year, the Sanctuary Ocean Count will be conducted at more than 60 different shore sites around Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island.

Counts will be held the last Saturday of January, February, and March. Pick a date and register today.

The 2010 Whale Sanctuary Ocean Count dates are:

Saturday, Jan. 30, Feb. 27, & March 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
